A diplomatic reception is a different kind of job
The Queen's Birthday reception is the most visible event in a British diplomatic mission's year. The guest list carries protocol, press and business. What goes on the table at an event like that has two requirements: it must look faultless, and it must not contradict the host's own position. For a mission that has made sustainability a public commitment, a plastic fork is a more visible mistake than an error on the menu.
Repeating every year is the real indicator
Supplying an event once is not a reference; continuing with the same supplier every year is. In event supply the feedback is immediate and unforgiving: a product that arrives short, arrives late or falls below expectation is not discussed the following year — it is simply bought somewhere else.
The letter
The letter of thanks that followed the event is on file with us. The reason we mention it separately is this: we wrote every sentence on this website, but we did not write that letter. Nothing a supplier can say about itself takes the place of something a customer wrote on its own letterhead.
What this demonstrates
That we can meet the expectations of an event held at protocol level, and turn that into a repeating relationship rather than a single order. In consulate, embassy, corporate reception and protocol work there is really only one question: if this goes wrong, who sees it. When the answer is everyone, supplier choice stops being about price.
On protocol and corporate reception work the date and the guest count are known well in advance; the job goes into the production plan on that basis and sampling is completed long before the event.
