Why this job was a test
The festival is run jointly by the İstanbul Governorship and the Zero Waste Foundation, under the patronage of Emine Erdoğan — the foundation's honorary president and also Chair of the United Nations High-Level Advisory Board on Zero Waste. So this is supplying single-use products at an event whose subject is waste itself, organised by the state and watched by an international body. A plastic fork appearing there would undermine the message of the whole event. Being chosen in that setting is, for us, a more concrete acceptance than any certificate.
Why event supply is different
A restaurant chain consumes steadily and holds stock. Event consumption arrives as a single peak: in June 2026, across four days and a programme of more than a thousand events, close to a million pieces compressed into a few days. Running short cannot be made up afterwards — nobody waits for another batch while a festival is running. On jobs like this the deciding factor is not unit price but arriving on the date, in full.
What this demonstrates
Two things. That we can supply a high-volume one-off event; and that the sustainability claim behind the product held up at a publicly organised event whose entire subject was exactly that. The second is a validation no sentence on a supplier's own website can provide — because we did not make the choice.
On event and trade fair work the calendar matters before the product does. Give us the date and the quantity at the start and it goes into the production plan on that basis.
