On a sunbed a drink stays in the hand for half an hour. That is exactly the window where paper straws soften; bamboo holds its shape when wet. For the same reason the sleeve has to be openable with a wet hand.

Contrast behaves differently outdoors: a light colour on a pale ground disappears in direct sun. That is why beach venues gravitate to saturated single colours — navy, terracotta, deep green — as much for legibility as for style.

In France, venues with more than twenty seats must serve dine-in consumption in reusable containers, and the rule looks at single use rather than material. A beach venue with sunbed service sits inside that definition; takeaway and grab-and-go do not.
