A ready collection, or your own artwork?
A ready collection is a pattern already designed and already applied across the whole product family, which removes both design cost and a proofing round. Your own artwork gives full brand consistency but requires vector files, colour decisions and proof approval. The choice is usually between time and identity.
Side by side
What a collection really saves
How one visual language applies to a napkin, a sleeve, a handle and a straw has already been resolved. With your own artwork that adaptation is a separate piece of work: the same logo does not sit the same way on a square napkin and on a narrow handle.
What your own artwork requires
- Vector files (PDF, AI, SVG, EPS)
- A colour decision, ideally a Pantone reference
- Placement worked out per product
- Proof approval
The middle path
Adding only a logo on top of a ready collection is a common solution: the pattern language arrives finished and the brand mark sits on it. Design time stays short and identity still shows.
When only your own artwork will do
Businesses with a brand guideline applied at every touchpoint outgrow collections quickly. Hotel groups and corporate brands sit here, where the product is treated as part of the brand system.
Frequently asked
- Will a collection pattern be exclusive to me?
- Collections are prepared for shared use. An exclusive pattern is a separate design commission.
- What if I have no vector logo?
- A printing plate cannot be made from a pixel file. It has to be redrawn as vector, which is a preparatory step of its own.
